Complementary Training

FIRST AID: FIRST AID AT WORK AND OXYGEN PROVIDER

The official rules of underwater safety stablish that in case of incident or accident during an intervention, the diver must have the minimum training in first aid to assist other divers while medical assistance arrives.

Basic life support and AED

The overall objective of this course is to get the student is able to apply the valuation techniques and maintenance of the basic life functions of an injured diver until the arrival of specialized personnel. The knowledge are related with life support techniques and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with automated external defibrillator (AED).

This course follows the guidelines of the European Resuscitation Council and is accredited by FEDAS Spanish Federation of Underwater Activities.

Theoretical session:

  • Priority on assisting diving accidents.
  • Review of vital functions.
  • Basic Life Support and guide to act.


Practical session:

  • Assessment of vital functions.
  • Basic techniques of CPR.
  • Use automated external defibrillator.
  • Safety position.

Oxygen provider

The overall objective of this course is to enable students to act immediately during a diving emergency and provide assistance to the injured by administering oxygen until the arrival of health care or transfer to medical Center.

This course is accredited by FEDAS Spanish Federation of Underwater Activities.

Theoretical session:

  • Recognize diving illness and symptoms.
  • Oxygen, effects, benefits and precautions.
  • Technical equipment and oxygen supply.


Practical session:

  • Oxygen equipment identification, assembly and disassembly.
  • Simulation of oxygen supply.
